One word and this is the most frequent word used by new daughter in law---- TIRING!!
Before get married, I do not need to clean house, preparing reunion dinner for 30 pax, clean again after the dinner and prepare for midnight praying. So, I did all these in 1 shot this year. It was tiring and exhausting.
On nian 29, I woke up at 6am, went bazaar to "fight" for roasted pig la, vege la.. and all those thing for praying. after that, start clean my house, sweep up the floor and cabinets, washing clothes, changing the quilt & mattress covers, not only for myself, but also prepare for my mum and brothers, visiting me on chor 2. Cleaning, cleaning, cleaning... non stop until 2am mid night. oh ya.. prepare the mushroom for next day use.
On nian 30, woke up at 8am, start cooking as the mushroom & chichen "leg" need to cook at least 1 whole day. 臘味 some more, have to cook a little while in spoiling water to reduce its salted taste. Then, chichken.. steam first, and only put on the sauces just before start "eating". "Siew Yok".. meat ball... fish.. prawn.... My hubby and me have to clean the kitchen and sweep the floor again when every people leaving with their full stomach. They left at 10pm!! We have to make sure everthing clean before 12pm!! Feel so tired although only recalling that moment. I can't imagine I have to repeat all these next year!! This is a nightmare for me. Seriously.
But think positively, I'll do everything when other ppl refuse to do or refuse to help. I can learn to cook very well but not them. At least, I can cook for my hubby and he can have nice and healthy meal all the time. Beside this, I find no reason for me to cook again for coming CNY!
